AWANA is a Bible-based, Christ-centered program committed to ministering to children. Our weekly program promotes an atmosphere filled with fun and excitement. Clubs for children in pre-school through sixth grade serve as a supplement to our Sunday School program. Children and youth are inspired to memorize scripture, read their Bibles and come to church regularly. The Purpose of AWANA is dedicated to reaching boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and prepare them for Christian service. Meetings consist of three main parts: Council Time can be the most rewarding part of the club This time can consist of anything from Bible lesson, sing worship songs, to a nature hike, all geared towards learning about serving God. Handbook Time is filled with the Word of God. Children practice memorization and develop their understanding of Scripture. Application of God’s Word is reinforced as the children work at completing their handbook(s). Game Time is often filled with loud and energetic children During game time children learn discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship...often without being aware of it. PARENTS, it is very important that you are not late picking up your clubber at the end of the night. The nightly club programs end at 8:00p.m. and you must come into the church to pick up your child. Children will not be allowed out of Fellowship Hall to meet you in the parking lot (Cubbies are picked up from their room). Arrangements must be made in advance if someone other than a parent is taking a child home. We won’t release the children to strangers. (Please be sure you have filled out and turned in the Emergency Contact Form so that we are able to contact you if something happens.) To help your T&T and Sparks clubber, please look over the entrance booklet and encourage and work with them on the different sections. Each time they pass a section, they will earn AWANA dollars that they can spend at the AWANA store, which is held twice a year. Cubbie clubbers do not participate in the AWANA store, but receive alternative incentives. AWANA EVENTS A weekly offering of 50 cents is requested to defer costs for awards earned by the children throughout the year. A one time offering of $12 will cover a year’s worth of weekly offering. An offering is NOT a requirement for participation in the club. Please feel free to come anytime and observe clubs in session or help out (if you younger children a nursery service is provided if you with to help). If you have a question, please feel free to contact us. |
