First Baptist Church was established in 1858 and was located at 6th and Seneca streets. In 1957, land was purchased, and the church was relocated to our present location at 13th and Osage, from downtown Leavenworth and have been worshipping here ever since!! We are affiliated with the American Baptist Churches of the USA, located within the American Baptist Churches of the Central Region. First Baptist is evangelical in nature. We believe in the historic, biblical Christian faith. We seek to keep true to the Holy Scriptures in our faith, striving to live out the Biblical command to love God, each other and our neighbors. This means worshiping and following Jesus Christ, and to boldly proclaim the Good News of Salvation through Jesus Christ.
